The Colony Raccoon Removal

Raccoons, while endearing in their antics, often pose significant challenges upon entering human domains. These versatile animals are common in a range of urban and suburban settings, where they engage in foraging activities. This frequently involves digging through trash, encroaching on gardens, and entering homes in quest of food.

These activities not only lead to disorder but can also inflict damage to properties in The Colony, Texas. Raccoons are distinguished by their significant intelligence and nimbleness, enabling them to unlock bins, pry off roof tiles, or cut through vents to seek food or shelter.

In our role as raccoon removal experts, we recognize the broader threats posed by raccoons, beyond the immediate issue of property damage. They serve as hosts to various diseases, including rabies, presenting a grave health risk to both humans and pets. Additionally, raccoons can transmit other diseases such as leptospirosis and roundworm, and are known to carry fleas, affecting both humans and animals alike.

Their droppings may carry hazardous parasites and spores, potentially leading to severe health complications. Raccoons are also territorial creatures that may show aggression when feeling threatened, especially during the rearing of their young. This aggressiveness, along with their disease transmission capability, highlights the complexity involved in managing raccoon populations across many communities.

Spotting Raccoon Activity

Characterized by their distinct masked faces and striped tails, raccoons are commonly seen throughout urban and suburban areas, including The Colony, TX. While they might look harmless, raccoons can become a significant concern when they breach homes and other properties.

Prompt identification of raccoon activity is crucial for the timely and effective removal of raccoons in The Colony area. Early detection helps prevent considerable damage and the associated health risks these animals can bring. Through our experience in providing raccoon removal services in The Colony, we have noted several signs of infestation to be aware of:

Noise from the Attic or Walls: Sounds such as scratching, rustling, or thumping, especially during the night, may indicate raccoons are nesting within your property.

Damage to the Home's Exterior: Check for broken roof tiles, affected soffits, or openings along the roof as raccoons are skilled climbers and can enter homes through these gaps. Monitoring the exterior is essential.

Raccoon Tracks: The unique footprints of raccoons, with five toes on both the front and back paws, are a clear indicator of their presence on your premises.

Disturbed Garbage Cans: Raccoons are notorious for their trash foraging habits. If your garbage cans are regularly overturned or tampered with, it's a strong sign.

Raccoon Droppings: The presence of these dangerous droppings, usually found near their nesting or feeding locations, can pose health risks.

Damaged Gardens and Lawns: Raccoons may raid gardens for fruits and vegetables or dig up lawns looking for grubs.

Observing any of these signs warrants reaching out to a professional for the safe and humane removal of raccoons in The Colony. Acting swiftly can help protect your property and health from the dangers posed by raccoons.

Handling Raccoon Encounters in the Attic

Encountering raccoons in the attic is a frequent issue for many homeowners, causing distress and property damage. These nocturnal animals are drawn to attics due to the warm, secluded environment it offers, making it an ideal spot for nesting, especially in the breeding season.

Once inside, raccoons can cause notable damage. They are infamous for tearing apart insulation, chewing on wood and wires, and creating openings that may lead to leaks and further structural issues. Furthermore, their feces can present health hazards, as raccoon droppings are known to contain dangerous parasites like roundworms. The noise from their night-time activities can also be a significant disturbance.

Dealing with raccoon infestations in the attic requires a careful and humane approach. Confirming the presence of raccoons through their unique tracks, droppings, and the sounds of their movement and vocalizations is the initial step. Professional assistance is highly recommended.

Utilizing a qualified raccoon removal service in The Colony ensures the safe and humane extraction of these animals. At Critter Stop, our team is adept at managing raccoons efficiently, ensuring their humane removal and securing entry points to avert future invasions. We further provide advice on cleaning and repairing the damage caused by raccoons, aiming to restore the attic to a safe and clean state. Attempting raccoon removal on your own is not advisable due to the potential risks of injury and disease.

A Detailed Guide to Trapping and Evicting Raccoons

Trapping and evicting raccoons is a complex task that requires a detailed, step-by-step approach to ensure it is done safely and humanely. Recognized for their cleverness and adaptability, raccoons often venture into human environments, leading to potential conflicts.

Efficiently resolving such issues is vital, whether due to their scavenging habits, residence in your attic, or property damage. The costs associated with raccoon eviction vary depending on the complexity of the situation, the methods employed, and the service provider. Nonetheless, it is an essential investment to safeguard your property and health. Here are the crucial steps in the raccoon trapping and eviction process:

Complimentary Assessment: At Critter Stop, we offer no-charge in-home evaluations to tailor solutions to your specific issues. Our detailed examination includes looking for signs of animal intrusion, nesting, and droppings, both indoors and outdoors. After assessing the problem's extent and discussing necessary actions, we develop a strategic plan together.

Securing Your Home: The initial focus is on comprehensively sealing your residence. Our exclusion team meticulously blocks potential entry points from the roof to the foundation. After confirming that no new raccoons can enter, we strategically place traps in areas of suspected animal activity.

Raccoon Eviction: During this phase, our specialists regularly visit your home to monitor the situation. If game cameras have been installed, we'll review the footage with you to evaluate animal behavior. After emptying the traps, we'll reset them and reinspect all sealed entryways to ensure no new openings have been created by the animals.

Restoration & Sanitization: Our responsibility goes beyond mere pest removal. We conduct a complete restoration of affected areas, including the removal and replacement of damaged insulation. To ensure long-term protection, we also carry out an extensive disinfection process, targeting animal pheromones to prevent future infestations.

I’d give a 10 star review if I could! We had a great experience with Critter Stop. Everyone I dealt was friendly, professional, and reassuring. Phillip was very helpful and knowledgeable about the work he was doing. He walked me around the entire house to make sure I saw and understood the services he provided. He was also really nice and answered all my questions — he is exactly the type of person that should be interacting with customers.I love the fact that they will come back for up to 1 year after installation if any problems occur — this shows me they stand behind their work. The owner was great too, he personally came to my house and walked me through their offering. I recommend critter stop to anyone and everyone!

Critter Stop is a fantastic business! Everyone involved is extremely professional and very easy to communicate with. Chisam, the owner, did a great job of explaining the process to get the squirrels out of my attic during the initial free estimate. The exclusion crew who did all of the initial work was fabulous. The crew consisted of Phillip, Nick and Corey who arrived promptly when they said they would. They are happy, positive employees. Everyone is very polite and patient in explaining their work and answering questions. They came back several times to check the traps and finish it off with the fogging. Lester was very good about following up to schedule each trap check with me, and the office staff who took care of the billing was very efficient. Critter Stop is a well run company with honest, trustworthy employees! Thank you to all of you who worked hard to make my attic critter free and for the peace of mind that you guarantee your work. Great to know I can call them if for some reason a squirrel figures out a way to get back in!
