How-to-Keep-Hornets Away Tips and Tricks for a Sting Free Environment

Hornets are insects that can pose a threat to humans because of their hostile disposition and stinging bites. While it is important to appreciate the role that hornets play in the ecosystem, it is equally important to take measures to keep them away from human living spaces. This article will provide simple and effective tips on how to keep hornets away from your home and yard.

One of the best ways to keep hornets away is to prevent them from making nests. Hornets typically construct their nests in isolated locations like attics, trees, and bushes. It is important to regularly inspect these areas and close off any gaps or crevices that could be potential spots for nesting. Additionally, removing any clutter or debris from your yard can help eliminate potential nesting sites.

Another effective method for keeping hornets away is to use natural repellents. Hornets are deterred by potent scents like peppermint, eucalyptus, and citronella. Cultivating these herbs in your garden or employing essential oils in a diffuser can help deter hornets from entering your living space. Additionally, hanging fake wasp nests around your yard can also trick hornets into thinking that the area is already occupied, and discourage them from building new nests in the vicinity.

Critter Stop is a fantastic business! Everyone involved is extremely professional and very easy to communicate with. Chisam, the owner, did a great job of explaining the process to get the squirrels out of my attic during the initial free estimate. The exclusion crew who did all of the initial work was fabulous. The crew consisted of Phillip, Nick and Corey who arrived promptly when they said they would. They are happy, positive employees. Everyone is very polite and patient in explaining their work and answering questions. They came back several times to check the traps and finish it off with the fogging. Lester was very good about following up to schedule each trap check with me, and the office staff who took care of the billing was very efficient. Critter Stop is a well run company with honest, trustworthy employees! Thank you to all of you who worked hard to make my attic critter free and for the peace of mind that you guarantee your work. Great to know I can call them if for some reason a squirrel figures out a way to get back in!
