family of raccoons

Aggressiveness

They can exhibit aggressive behavior, especially when they feel threatened or are protecting their young. This may include growling, lunging, or even biting, posing risks to humans and pets.

Property Damage

Raccoons can cause property damage by tearing up roofs, siding, and vents to gain access to attics or crawl spaces. Inside, they may destroy insulation and contaminate areas with their waste.

Noise & Disruption

Raccoons are notorious for creating noise and disruptions, especially at night when they are most active. Scratching, thumping, or scurrying sounds in attics, walls, or crawl spaces often indicate their presence.

Health Hazards

They can carry diseases like rabies and leptospirosis, which are transmissible to humans and pets. Their droppings may also contain harmful parasites, such as roundworms, that can contaminate surfaces and air.

Your Raccoon Problem Ends Here!

Raccoons may seem cute and curious, but they can become aggressive if they feel threatened or cornered, but this ain't our first rodeo. Take a look at our Step-by-Step raccoon removal process, and let us handle it for you!

Free Inspection

Critter Stop provides free in-home consultations to create tailored solutions for your raccoon removal needs. Our team conducts a thorough inspection, checking for damage, entry points, nests, and droppings. After assessing the issue, we’ll discuss the findings and craft a detailed action plan to resolve it effectively.

Seal Your home /
 remove the Critters

Our priority is sealing your home by securing all potential entry points, from the roof to the foundation. The exclusion team ensures every gap is thoroughly patched. Once everything is sealed up, we will set traps/cameras to capture and safely remove the critter.

Restore & Sanitize

Removing the critter is just the beginning, there’s more to do! We fully restore your space by replacing damaged insulation and fogging the area to disinfect and eliminate animal pheromones. This ensures your home stays protected from future infestations.

Signs You Have a Raccoon Issue

Spotting a raccoon problem early is key to preventing serious damage. These clever animals can quickly turn a minor nuisance into a major issue if not addressed promptly.

Scratching Noises

Raccoons are often identified by the noises they make during their nighttime activities. Homeowners might hear scratching, rustling, or thumping sounds coming from walls or attics, indicating that raccoons may be nesting in these hidden areas.

Damaged Property

They are excellent climbers, often scaling rooftops to find and exploit vulnerabilities. Regular inspections are essential to spot damage, such as missing shingles, torn soffit panels, or gaps along roof edges, which these clever animals can use to gain entry.

Raccoon Droppings

Raccoon droppings are both unsightly and hazardous, often carrying harmful parasites and pathogens. These wastes are typically found in areas where raccoons nest or eat and can be identified by their size, shape, and the presence of undigested food particles.

Critter stop has done an amazing job with all the services they have provided. From the beginning of their process it has been a seamless experience with them and transparent as well. Jared was the first to come to provide a quote and he was understanding kind and extremely knowledgeable.

Afterwards, the technicians, Tyler and Dakota also did a stellar job. I was so impressed with the service that they provide that we continue to use them for pest and mosquito treatment. And that has also been outstanding as well.

Shout out to Jared, Tyler and Dakota for their hard work!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does raccoon removal cost?

An average raccoon removal job costs around $750-$3,500. Every home and raccoon invasion is unique. We price based on features of the home, square footage of the home, the severity of the infestation, whether you have a tight crawl space or a big open attic, landscaping around the home (determines how hard it is to get to entry points), steepness of the roof (determines how long it will take), if we have to harness in, etc. Each client receives an itemized list of everything they are charged for and the cost of each item.

Why would a raccoon be out during the day?

Raccoons are primarily nocturnal animals, but it is not uncommon to see a raccoon during the day. There are several reasons why a raccoon might be out during the day, including: Searching for food, exploring new territory, and seeking shelter.

What should I do if I see a raccoon in my yard?

If you see a raccoon in your yard, it is important to keep a safe distance and avoid approaching it. Raccoons are wild animals and may become aggressive if they feel threatened. It is best to observe the raccoon from a safe distance and allow it to move on its own. If the raccoon is causing damage or becoming a problem, it is important to take measures to deter it from returning.

What does a raccoon nest in a tree look like?

Raccoons typically nest in hollow trees and other tree cavities, as these provide the perfect dark, secluded spaces they need to care for their kits. In the wild, they will also nest in rock crevices, brush piles, and abandoned burrows made by other animals.

What do i do if a raccoon approaches me?

Raccoons are opportunistic animals that are attracted to areas where food, water, and shelter are available. They are also known to be carriers of diseases, like rabies, that can be transmitted to pets and humans. When encountering a raccoon, it's important to keep your distance, avoid feeding or approaching them, and secure your property to prevent them from accessing food sources.

How do I scare a raccoon away?

The most effective way to scare raccoons away is by making loud and sudden noises that will startle them. This can be achieved by using a variety of sound sources, such as clapping, shouting, or using a loud radio. Another option is to use motion-activated sprinklers or lights that will deter raccoons from entering your property.
